CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Root to Rise (R2R) Power Yoga

The foundation upon which we have built the majority of our other classes, our Power Yoga class is a heated vinyasa flow class in which you will be challenged to tune into your breath as you flow from one yoga posture to the next with intention and mindfulness. This class is heated to 90 degrees and is accessible to all practice levels.

R2R Power Beats

Power Yoga, just add music! Sometimes the music has a theme, sometimes focused on a specific artist or event - ALWAYS fun! This class is heated to 90 degrees and is accessible to all practice levels.

R2R Yoga + HIIT

Our most intense class, Yoga + HIIT combines a vinyasa flow yoga warm-up, followed by 16-20 minutes of high intensity interval training (i.e. burpees, jumping jacks, squats & lunges), followed by a restorative yoga cooldown. This class is heated to 90 degrees and is accessible to all practice levels.

R2R Power Play

It’s time to rise up and PLAY! This class gives us all the opportunity to learn and add new postures to our practice. We begin by flowing through a yoga sequence to warm up and open specific areas of the body, then we break down how to safely attempt a peak posture that may or may not already be in your practice, followed by PLAY time, finally finishing up with a restorative cool down. This class is heated to 90 degrees and is accessible to all practice levels, though we do not recommend it be your first class if you are new to yoga.

R2R Slow Flow

A new addition to our schedule, Slow Flow offers a less intense flow class, with NO chaturangas required. Come to this class on your rest day, if you’re sore and need a good stretch, or if you need lots of modifications but still want to flow (injury, pregnancy, etc.). This class is non-heated with the studio temperature set at 80 degrees, and is accessible to all practice levels.

Root & Restore

If you’re looking to breathe, stretch, or de-stress, Root & Restore is the class for you! Using props including bolsters, blankets, blocks, and straps, the intention of this class is comfort and relaxation. We hold postures for varied amounts of time to allow our bodies to sink into the shapes, but never push or force anything. Sometimes you might even fall asleep - and that’s okay! This class is non-heated with the studio temperature set at 80 degrees, and is accessible to all practice levels. If you’re timid about starting a yoga practice and want to dip your toe in the water, this is the perfect class for you!

Root, Rise, Restore, & Renew (R4)

R4 is a combination of all the kinds of yoga we offer at Root to Rise Power Yoga. You start with a grounding meditation, then move into 20-30 minutes of invigorating power flow, after which you’ll come down to your mat for a series of restorative postures ending in yoga nidra, a guided meditation while you refresh yourself in savasana. This class in non-heated with the studio temperature set to 80 degrees, and is accessible to all practice levels. We highly recommend checking this class out if you’re new to our studio and want to get a taste of everything we have to offer!

This style of yoga focuses on stretching deeper and longer, opening up the connective tissues, and focusing inward toward deep meditation and renewal.
